Welcome to Four Seasons Therapeutic Riding Academy, Inc.
FSTRA provides our clients with an exceptional experience in a ranch setting. FSTRA builds knowledge, self confidence and inspires adults and children to accomplish more than they dreamed possible while helping to improve their quality of life. No family will be turned away due to financial reasons. Our volunteers are trained in CPR and are here because of their interest in horses and helping people. Our instructors are certified by PATH . This nationally recognized association provides a level of certification for instructors and promote safe and effective therapeutic horseback riding throughout the US and Canada.
Once you have seen your loved one experience the joy of petting, feeding or riding a horse, you will be hooked for life. You are welcomed to take pictures of your loved ones. We also have somewhat of a petting zoo. Sheep, goats, mini ponies all are accessible to our clients.

Big Smiles
Our students range in age from the very young to adults. Each student is evaluated by one of our instructors to understand his/her limitations, medical issues and develop an individual program for them.
Mounted Lessons
- Students improve balance, achieve therapeutic goals and experience freedom of movement while gaining self-control and confidence.
Ground Lessons
- Students learn responsibilities and improve daily life skills through lessons about horse care and stable maintenance.
Day Camp
- Hands on equine-based activities
We will not let financial hurdles keep riders from achieving their individual goals and experiencing the love and care offered by Four Seasons Therapeutic Riding Academy. Scholarships assistance is available. Please call us for more information.
Riding Sessions:
Rider session times will vary depending on the individual needs of the student.
FSTRA operates with volunteers. We would not have a program without them. Each lesson needs four people. A person on each side of the horse and rider called side walkers. A person in front of the horse, leader, and then of course the Certified Instructor. Safety is obviously very important, everyone will be CPR trained and our instructors will be PATH certified.
Benefits:
Benefits are endless. Knowing that the horse is responding aides in confidence, self-esteem, social skills and is something to be proud of and something that they can do and be good at. People who have Cerebral Palsey, Downs Syndrome and other motor skill problems will get a unique type of exercise that improves balance and coordination. Riders with physical needs often gain improvements in flexibility, balance and muscle strength. A person in a wheel chair gets only one perspective on life. These people will be able to experience movement of walking while being seated on the horse. This helps to sooth the mind, let alone feel the freedom of moving around. Riders can also learn things like but are not limited to:
